Who am i?
As someone with a background in 2D-design and art, I have a strong interest in how level design bridges together with the artistic sides to games to shape a player experience.
In college back in Norway I studied “Art, Design and Architecture” and realised that I wanted to pursue a career within the games industry. I then studied “Game Design and Production” for two years at Abertay University, before moving to Staffordshire University where I am currently continuing my degree with “Computer Gameplay Design and Production”.
As a game designer I often find myself wondering how I can make a game immersive for the player. I am increasingly gaining an interest in how level design and environment design bridge together to affect the player experience.
In addition to game design, I also have experience with 2D design and illustration, 3D modelling, and texturing of assets. While 3D modelling and texture creation are newer areas to me, I find the learning process very enjoyable. The creative softwares I feel most comfortable with are Photoshop, ProCreate, Substance Designer, Substance Painter, and Autodesk Maya.
Although I find myself drawn most to the more visual and narrative areas of game design, I still have experience with programming in Unity using C# and with Blueprints in Unreal Engine (4 & 5). I am increasingly gaining experience with Unreal Engine 5.
